Today, we’re announcing the v23 release of the Google Ads API. This marks the first release of 2026 and the beginning of our move to a faster release cadence.
To use some of the v23 features, you must upgrade your client libraries and client code. All the updated client libraries and code examples have been published.
Here are some of the key features in this release:
- Enabled ad network type breakdown for Performance Max campaigns.
InvoiceService.ListInvoicescan now return more granular details inInvoiceincluding campaign-level cost breakdown, itemized regulatory costs, and adjustment information. To get these details, setinclude_granular_level_invoice_detailsinListInvoicesRequest.- You can now specify start and end times for certain campaign types. The new fields
Campaign.start_date_timeandCampaign.end_date_timereplaceCampaign.start_dateandCampaign.end_date, respectively. - Store location details are now available in PerStoreView. You can retrieve the store location column shown in the Stores report via the API.
- Added a new
LIFE_EVENT_USER_INTERESTdimension. This allows users to build audiences using Life Events withAudienceInsightsServiceandContentCreatorInsightsService. - The
ReachPlanService.GenerateConversionRatesresponse now includes surfaces, allowing for different conversion rate suggestions based on surface controls (for example, Gmail, Shorts). This is only supported for Demand Gen campaigns. - Added a new
AudienceInsightsService.GenerateAudienceDefinitionmethod that lets you to translate a free text description of a target audience into matching audience attributes using generative AI. ShoppingPerformanceViewnow supports new competitive metrics and conversion metrics segmented by conversion date.
