Announcing v202202 of the Google Ad Manager API

We're pleased to announce that v202202 of the Google Ad Manager API is available starting today, February 28th. This release brings a long-awaited feature – Ad Manager hosted video creatives. Simply provide a URL for the video asset, and Ad Manager will read and transcode it. While API support has been added, this feature is still rolling out to Ad Manager networks and may not yet be available in yours. Networks with this feature disabled will continue to receive CreativeSetError.CANNOT_CREATE_OR_UPDATE_VIDEO_CREATIVES. MCM companies now include information about the status of onboarding tasks and Sellers.json identifiers. There are also some maintenance updates removing deprecated features, like AdExclusionRuleService and Proposal pause information. For the full list of changes, check the release notes. Smart Campaigns are now in general availability

Added support for Audience, which you can add as an AdGroupCriterion to Discovery and Video Action Campaigns

The Audience resource will be used for targeting when use_audience_grouped is set to true for an audience_setting of an ad group

Performance Max Campaigns now support asset group signals consisting of Audience criteria to tell who's most likely to convert for the campaigns

Added a new ExperimentService with a set of new resources. This replaces the deprecated campaign experiments.

Added support for Local Services Ads campaigns as open beta with the following options:

You can retrieve campaigns and their metrics using Search and SearchStream
You can update the campaign status and campaign budget amount using mutate. Note other mutate operations aren’t supported.

Added a new meta parameter that you can use to make GoogleAdsService return only resource name fields that you explicitly request in the SELECT clause of your query

Added the following for Hotel campaigns:

You can now segment SKAdNetwork conversions by user type, ad event type, and source app ID (if available in the postback sent to us by Apple)

ad_group_ad_asset_combination_view now supports responsive search ads

Sunset of the Ad Manager API v202102

On Tuesday, March 1, 2022, in accordance with the deprecation schedule, v202102 of the Ad Manager API will sunset. At that time, any requests made to this version will return errors. If you’re still using v202102, now is the time to upgrade to a newer release and take advantage of additional functionality. For example, in v202105 and newer versions we added support for pushing creative previews to linked devices. When you’re ready to upgrade, check the full release notes to identify any breaking changes. Here are a few examples of changes that may impact your applications:

Support was removed for filtering on the field keyValueMemberContent in CmsMetadataService.getCmsMetadataValuesByStatement. Use Content.cmsMetadataValueIds instead.

On the MobileApplication object, the singular field appStore was changed to the list field appStores.

February 2022 update to Display & Video 360 API v1

Today we’re releasing an update to the Display & Video 360 API that includes the following features:

Support for creating and updating Customer Match FirstAndThirdPartyAudience resources.

A new reservationType field in InsertionOrder and LineItem resources that identifies whether a resource is Tag Guaranteed, Programmatic Guaranteed, or not guaranteed.

The ability to retrieve and set whether a line item automatically targets new exchanges through a new excludeNewExchanges field.

In addition to these new features, this update also doubles existing default API request limits for the Display & Video 360 API. The updated quota values can be found on our usage limits documentation. More detailed information about this update can be found in the Display & Video 360 API release notes. Before using these new features, make sure to update your client library to the latest version. We have also added a new Use Audiences guide featuring a page on uploading Customer Match audience data using the Display & Video 360 API.
